Don’t be afraid to fail

Failure is one of the steps to success. The saying ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ is perfectly relatable to the journey of a successful person. No idea comes ready made, no man comes ready fulfilled.

To make the most of anything it requires hard work and determination. Nobody said the journey would be easy but when you look forward to what can be achieved if you stick to the task at hand it will all be worthwhile. Think of your life as a GPS, you set your route and start the journey but you may encounter situations that require you to recalculate so you simply adjust course and continue your journey to the destination. Sometimes you might find roads that shave a few minutes off the journey and sometimes you might encounter unexpected traffic that slows you down but that does not change the fact that you have a destination to reach and in life nothing should stop you driving to accomplish your goals and targets.

An olympic athlete trains day in day out running on the same track doing the same distance over and over again. Suffering the physical pains to reach the goals they need to achieve. The focus is that gold medal at the end of it and if that goal is achieved the hard work that went into it is justifiable and worthwhile. However, if for whatever reason they do not achieve that gold, they get back to the drawing board understand why they didn’t win and adapt their training accordingly.

There are only two outcomes when you apply yourself to something. You either win and succeed or you learn a lesson. How you move forward from that point onwards depends on what you do with that lesson learnt.

Don’t let your setback make you sit back prepare for your comeback.
